Will the neoprene stretch enough to fit both standard wine bottles and wider champagne bottles?
Yes. High-quality neoprene has excellent natural elasticity. To maximize this, we laminate the rubber core with four-way super-stretch spandex or high-elasticity nylon. This allows a single sleeve design to stretch comfortably over a standard wine bottle, and expand further to hug a wider champagne bottle without tearing the seams.
Does a thicker rubber wall keep the wine colder for a longer time?
Yes. A thicker layer of closed-cell rubber provides a larger thermal barrier. More gas bubbles mean better insulation against the outside heat. For ice compression sleeves with gel packs, we usually recommend a thickness of four to five millimeters. This thickness provides excellent insulation while remaining flexible enough to stretch over the glass.
