When you order a custom neoprene tech sleeve, you are not printing on bare rubber. Raw rubber does not hold ink.
Neoprene is a composite sandwich. The black rubber sponge is in the middle. We glue fabric to the outside and the inside. You are actually printing on the outer fabric.
This outer fabric is usually Nylon or Polyester. The type of fabric you choose completely dictates the type of printing you can use. If a supplier tries to use the wrong ink on the wrong fabric, the print will fail.

Silk screening is the oldest and most common printing method in the world.

Silk screening on neoprene is tricky. The fabric stretches. Standard ink does not stretch. If a cheap factory uses standard ink, your logo will crack the moment the customer pulls the laptop sleeve open.

When to Use Heat Transfer

Will a heat transfer logo survive machine washing?
Neoprene tech sleeves should generally be hand-washed to protect the rubber. However, a high-quality heat transfer applied with commercial pressure will survive gentle machine washing. Cheap transfers from middlemen will peel off in the water. We always recommend dye sublimation if you expect heavy washing, as sublimation is completely permanent.
Can you print on dark-colored fabrics?
For silk screen and heat transfer, yes. We can print a bright white logo on black nylon fabric. However, for dye sublimation, we must start with a pure white polyester fabric. Sublimation ink is transparent. If we sublimate onto black fabric, the design will be invisible. We start with white fabric and dye the entire surface to match your design perfectly.
Why does my current printed sample look blurry at the edges?
Blurry edges happen when a supplier uses low-resolution printing files or bad heat press tension. If the fabric shifts during the sublimation press, the gas ink smears. Does printing change the thickness of the neoprene?
